Dr. Thilini Nanayakkara was born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand. She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2017 and moved to Vancouver in 2022.
Her aim is to provide a comfortable and calm experience for everyone, free from judgment. She provides all facets of dental care to her patients, ranging from emergency care to full-mouth restorative dentistry.
Dr Thilini’s constant drive for clinical excellence sees her attending further education in Restorative Dentistry, Root Canal Treatment, Oral Surgery, Cosmetic Dentistry, and Invisalign in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the USA.
Before and after dental school, she travelled to work in the Philippines and Guatemala providing pro bono restorative and surgical dental services to isolated and disadvantaged communities. Nowadays, she is a board member for Share A Smile Society – a dental charity providing dental services in remote parts of Vancouver Island.
Dr. Thilini is a member of the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals, British Columbia Dental Association, the SPEAR Education, and the Global Diagnosis Study Club.
Outside of dentistry, she enjoys yoga, spending time with her friends, and finding new hiking locations across North America.
